What is Ceramic Paint Protection?
Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer applied to the vehicle’s exterior surfaces. Once cured, it chemically bonds to the clear coat, creating a durable, hydrophobic, semi-permanent protective layer. It does not replace PPF (paint protection film) for rock chip resistance, but offers superior protection from:
-
UV rays and oxidation
-
Chemical stains (bird droppings, tree sap, bug splatter)
-
Water spots and mineral deposits
-
Light wash-induced marring
-
Fading and dulling over time
Plus, it enhances the depth, clarity, and gloss of your paintwork.
Why Invest in Ceramic Paint Protection?
-
✅ Preserves paintwork and showroom shine long-term
-
✅ Minimises washing effort (dirt doesn’t bond easily)
-
✅ Saves money on waxing and harsh chemical washes
-
✅ Boosts resale value by protecting vehicle appearance
-
✅ Peace of mind against weather, pollution, and bird droppings
Ceramic Paint Protection Process at Detaileur
Step 1: Pre-Inspection & Client Consultation
-
We inspect the current condition of the paintwork, including scratches, swirl marks, oxidation, contaminants, and coating suitability.
-
We recommend correction or enhancement if needed before coating.
-
We discuss your expectations, driving habits, and vehicle storage to recommend the right coating type.
Step 2: Deep Decontamination Wash

Purpose: Remove bonded contaminants, old waxes, sealants, and environmental fallout.
-
Includes:
-
Foam pre-wash to loosen grime
-
Two-bucket hand wash with pH-neutral shampoo
-
Iron fallout remover (bleeds out industrial contaminants)
-
Tar removal if necessary
-
Clay bar treatment to remove embedded particles from paint
-
Final rinse and drying with soft microfibre towels
Step 3: Paintwork Preparation (Essential for bonding)
-
Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) Wipe Down: Strips any remaining oils or residues
-
Paint inspection under LED lighting
-
If needed, a paint enhancement or correction is recommended as an add-on service before coating. Coating over swirls, scratches, or dullness will permanently lock them in.
Step 4: Coating Application (Applied by hand in controlled sections)
-
We apply a professional-grade ceramic coating to the paintwork in overlapping cross-hatch patterns:
-
Each panel is coated methodically
-
Curing time is observed per product requirements
-
Product is levelled and excess wiped off with ultra-soft cloths
-
Application may include a 1-layer or 2-layer system depending on the selected package
-
We can apply to:
✅ Paintwork (body panels)
✅ Plastic trims (UV-protected finish)
✅ Headlights/taillights
✅ Wheels (optional add-on)
✅ Glass (optional hydrophobic glass coating)
Step 5: Post-Application Curing
-
Vehicle is left to sit or lightly warmed to accelerate bonding
-
Avoid water exposure for 24–48 hours
-
Full curing typically completes in 7 days
Step 6: Aftercare & Maintenance Instructions
-
You’ll be provided with care guidelines including:
-
How to wash your coated car
-
What shampoos/products to avoid
-
Maintenance spray (optional purchase)
-
Recommended wash frequency and top-up intervals
Important Notes
🔸 Ceramic coating does not fill scratches or remove imperfections — a paint correction is strongly recommended prior for best results.
🔸 All vehicles must be inspected prior to quoting. Final pricing depends on size, current condition, and whether correction or enhancement is needed.
🔸 24-hour water protection window post-coating is mandatory. We may offer indoor curing or reschedule in case of poor weather.
