Exterior Detailing Process at Detaileur: Tailored Per Vehicle Condition

Step 1: Initial Vehicle Assessment & Consultation

Before any work begins, we conduct a thorough inspection of your vehicle’s exterior to assess paint condition, contamination levels, and overall wear. This allows us to recommend the most suitable services and provide an accurate quote tailored to your vehicle’s needs.

Step 2: Pre-Wash Preparation

  • Wheel & Tire Protection: We apply protective masks to sensitive areas such as brake calipers to prevent damage during washing.

  • Pre-Rinse: High-pressure water spray removes loose dirt and debris to prevent scratching during wash.

Step 3: Exterior Washing

  • Hand Wash: Using premium pH-balanced shampoos and microfiber mitts, we gently clean the entire vehicle exterior, including body panels, wheels, tires, wheel wells, and door jambs.

  • Two-Bucket Method: To minimize swirl marks and maintain paint integrity.

  • Bug & Tar Removal: Specialized solvents target stubborn bugs, tar, and sap without damaging paint.

Step 4: Decontamination (Based on Vehicle Condition)

  • Lightly Soiled Vehicles: Typically, pre-wash and hand wash suffice.

  • Moderately Weathered Vehicles: We include a Clay Bar Treatment or synthetic clay mitt to remove embedded surface contaminants such as industrial fallout, tree sap, and brake dust, restoring smoothness to the paint.

  • Severely Weathered Vehicles: In addition to clay bar treatment, chemical decontamination and iron fallout removal products are used to deeply cleanse the surface.

Step 5: Paint Correction & Enhancement (Add-On Services)

  • Light Correction: For minor swirl marks, light oxidation, and superficial scratches. Includes polishing with light-cut compounds to enhance gloss.

  • Multi-Stage Correction: For vehicles with deeper scratches, oxidation, and significant paint imperfections. This process can involve compounding and polishing in several steps to restore clarity and shine.

  • Paint Enhancement: Post-correction application of fine polishes or glazes to further boost depth and gloss.

    Note: These services are add-ons and are not included in the standard or full exterior detailing package but can be bundled for a complete restoration.

Step 6: Paint Protection Application

  • Paint Sealant: Included in all standard and full detailing packages, sealants provide a durable protective layer that enhances gloss and repels contaminants.

  • Ceramic or Graphene Coating (Add-On): For superior long-term protection, hydrophobic properties, and enhanced gloss, we offer professional-grade coatings applied with meticulous preparation.

  • Wax Application (Optional): Traditional carnauba wax can be applied for a warm, deep shine and sacrificial protection

Step 7: Exterior Finishing Touches

  • Wheel & Tire Dressing: We clean and apply high-quality dressings to restore blackness and provide protection against cracking and fading.

  • Trim Restoration: Faded plastic and rubber trims are rejuvenated to look like new.

  • Glass Cleaning: Crystal clear window and mirror cleaning inside and out for streak-free visibility.

  • Door Jambs & Seals: Detailed cleaning to remove accumulated dirt and grime.

  • Final Inspection: A meticulous quality check ensures every inch of your vehicle’s exterior meets our high standards.

Tailored to Your Vehicle Condition

  • Lightly Soiled: Basic wash, clay bar optional, paint sealant included.

  • Moderately Weathered: Clay bar treatment recommended, paint correction add-on available.

  • Severely Weathered: Full clay bar and chemical decontamination, multi-stage paint correction recommended, coatings available as add-ons.
